India contributes significantly to the global Plasmodium vivax burden. Treatment of malaria is more challenging than before owing rise antimalarial drug resistance. The commonly used drugs for treatment are chloroquine, antifolates like sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine, and artemisinin-based derivatives. Antimalarial resistance studied by in vitro vivo methods. Study on mutations targets parasite a widely tool help foresee likely relate clinical picture. majority studies from Southeast Asian region come countries Thailand Myanmar. Though therapeutic failure with these agents has not been reported India, there have reports reduced efficacy presence their molecular targets.
